Apple iPhone 4 Accessories – www.cell-phone-accessories.com

This past year saw a major explosion in the smartphone market. We saw phones such as Android powered phones like the Google Nexus One (you can check out Nexus One accessories here), Motorola Droid (you can check out Motorola Droid accessories here), HTC Droid Incredible (you can check out HTC Incredible accessories here) and HTC Evo (you can see HTC Evo accessories here). WebOS powered phones like the Palm Pre Plus (you can check out Palm Pre Plus accessories here). Symbian powered phones like the Samsung Omnia HD, SonyEricsson Satio and upcoming Nokia N8. As well as Windows Mobile powered phones like the LG eXpo (you can check out LG eXpo accessories here) and HTC HD2 (you can check out HTC HD2 accessories here). All of the above mentioned phones boasts hardware which have surpassed that of the Apple iPhone 3GS (you can check out more iPhone 3GS accessories here). With all of these major players in the market, it became quite evident that Apple had to make a drastic overhaul to catch up to the competitors.

With the recently announced iPhone 4, Apple did just that. While the processor is similar to the previous iPhone 3GS, though has a clockspeed at 1GHz instead of 600MHz (overclocking the previous generation required jailbreak). To go along with the added speed, Apple has completely redesigned the phone having it built completely out of the very strong, gorilla glass. The phone is now thinner, and Apple has been able to cleverly build antennas on the exterior allowing for a higher gain (the best part about the HSPA antenna is that it is a pentaband antenna, meaning it can allow you to use 3G from anywhere in the world. Apple is the following Nokia to become the second to adopt this breakthrough in GSM technology and as time goes on, I expect it to become the standard). They have even added many features including a front facing camera (which as of right now can be used over WiFi to communicate with other iPhone 4 users using the Apple software, FaceTime), a LED flash for the camera (which has been upgraded from 3.2MP to 5MP), a second mic for noise cancellation, a larger battery for enhanced battery life, and a gyroscope for angular rotations to couple with the accelerometer for orientation changes. While these features are great, I have yet to discuss the most impressive part of the new phone. While keeping the size of the screen constant at 3.5” (given that Apple only makes one model of smartphones, it must be one size fits all and 3.5” is a size which has proven to work for all people), Apple has increased the resolution by four times to 960×640 pixels. As a result, the screen now has 326 pixels per inch and given that the human eye can only discern 300 pixels per inch at a distance of 10” to 12” or more, the iPhone 4 is the first phone to have a truly high definition display. A display similar to what you see on print magazines or HDTVs. In terms of hardware, there is zero doubt that this phone is an engineering marvel.

The upgrades Apple has made to this phone go far beyond hardware. Apple has also introduced the latest iteration to iPhone software which they have renamed to iOS. The newest operating system, iOS4 will be available to the iPhone 3GS and Apple iPod Touch soon. This new smartphone OS is going to keep the same easy to use, well working interface which iPhone users have grown to love. As well as adding some new functionality such as allowing users to customize their background, multitask and many more features which were touched up on at the last developer conference. While Apple may not be the company which pioneered multitasking, they have found a very sophisticated way to incorporate it into their operating system. It will only work across certain applications and it will require developers to rewrite current applications to work but it is the most battery/energy efficient form of multitasking for any smartphone operating system. This new operating system also incorporates Apple’s new advertisement platform, iAd, which gives application developers the ability to place advertisements wherever they want, and gives users the ability to view an advertisement while staying within the application.

Preorder for the new iPhone began and ended yesterday, as Apple was able to sell out the 600,000. They sold ten times more during this preorder period than they did for the iPhone 3GS. I am assuming that to purchase an iPhone 4 when it releases on June 24th, you are going to have to pitch up a tent and camp out to grab a place in line. If you are one of the lucky group who were able to preorder the new iPhone or plan on becoming one to grab this engineering marvel, then you should take a long hard look at the selection of accessories available at cell-phone-accessories. With a great phone like this, it is smartest to purchase an iPhone 4 screen protector and iPhone 4 case to protect that beautiful glass body. Well designed products would be released to keep the antenna gain as high as it is while protecting it from scratches and scuffs. It would also be a good idea to look into purchasing an iPhone 4 car charger, iPhone 4 travel charger, iPhone 4 data cable, iPhone 4 holderiPhone 4 silicone case, iPhone 4 screen protector, Bluetooth headsets, cell phone boosters and many more iPhone 4 accessories. You can check out the wide selection of iPhone 4 accessories here.
