My next few blog posts will be discussing antenna mounts. If you recall my set of posts on antennas, then you would remember that there were many antennas in which the ground planes were required (as well as antennas which were not completely plug and play). Wilson Electronics offers many different types of antenna mounts, so the smartest thing for you to do would be to research all mounts available for your type of antenna. My next few blog posts will detail as best as I can all available mounts.

The first mount I will present to you is a mount for the NMO antennas. If you do not recall, NMO is a type of mobile antenna offered and stands for non-magnetic option and mounting these antennas usually require drilling a hole onto a metal ground plane. This means mounting this is close to permanent so these types of antennas are most ideal for service trucks or vehicles (such as fire trucks, ambulances, police vehicles, security vehicles, other service vehicles). The antennas which suit this profile are the Wilson 301104, Wilson 301105 and Wilson 301112. There are three types of mounts available for these antennas and this one is the first.

This mount is a trunk mount. This mount includes a 14′ RG58U cable (approximate loss of 3dB which is about 50%) and an FME connector (meaning no extra connector is required to make it work with any of the above antennas). And as the name implies, this mounts onto the trunk (more specifically, the lip of any trunk or any similar surface) of any vehicle (which is already a metal ground plane as required). Everything required for the antenna to be mounted is included with this mount.
