The antenna I will discuss in this post is the same as the Wilson 301143 with the only difference being that it uses an SMA male connector instead of an FME female connector. If you can recall, the Wilson 301143 is a slim low profile antenna. Examples of amplifiers that use the SMA connector would be the Wilson 801230 and the Wilson 801240. If you may recall, the Wilson 301143 is a low profile ultra slim antenna. It is designed to act as an external antenna in a mobile setting (while being installed inside the vehicle, for those who do not want to place an antenna on the top of their vehicle, hence the reason is it described to be low profile), as well as an internal antenna for an in building setting. This antenna is built to support the 806-960 MHz & 1700-2300 MHz. Meaning this antenna is able to support the rare 1700MHz 3G frequency. It uses a 3M adhesive for mounting onto glass and uses to a 10′ SMA coaxial cable (included). When used as an exterior antenna, it must be centered vertically onto the front or rear windshield (avoiding any defrosting lines). When used as an interior antenna, it can be either vertical or horizontal, it also must be at least 7′ above ground and approximately 40′ away from the exterior antenna for a 50dB amplifier and 75′ away from the exterior antenna for a 65dB amplifier. In either setting, it must be at least 6″ away from any metal object. You should place it at a location in which signal is lowest, and test the antenna before pasting it onto your glass (as 3M adhesive is very strong). Go ahead and take a look at the Wilson 301149.
