Please read the first paragraph on my blog discussing the Wilson 301101 in order to learn more about the uses of an antenna. This is the first NMO antenna I will introduce into our discussion. NMO means non-magnetic option mount, drilling a hole is required and a metal ground plane is required. These antennas are ideal for a dedicated spot or vehicle such as a police car, ambulance, fire truck, other public service vehicles. This one is 13.88″ tall, there are special trucker NMO antennas available so I would recommend this one for a police car or public service car or even a small home or office in which you want to permanently place the antenna (while it can be moved, it is more convenient to just keep it in one place). Though it is powerful enough for a truck or large area, I would recommend buying a bigger one for those uses. I will discuss a larger NMO antenna in a future blog. This antenna also uses an FME female connector and a 14′ coaxial cable are included with the required mount sold separately. We offer three mounting options for this antenna. The Wilson 901101 is a trunk mount that can be mounted onto the lip of a trunk or any similar surface, the Wilson 901102 which requires a 3/4″ hole in sheet metal, and the Wilson 901103 which requires a 3/8″ hole in sheet metal.
