Please read the first paragraph on my blog discussing the Wilson 301101 in order to learn more about the uses of an antenna. The antenna I will discuss in this post is the antenna I have been recommending (one of two FME female antennas, both using this concept, the other is the 4.175″ mini-magnet mount, the Wilson 301113) for almost every mobile amplifier. It is the antenna I use (as stated in my blog about the Wilson 801240) and I have found it to be very powerful and useful. The cool thing about this antenna is that it is a magnet mount. It is made up of rare earth magnet yet it is a lot easier than I thought it would be to remove from one vehicle to another, or to my home or office. This antenna is 12.25″ tall and requires a metal ground plane (which is obvious as it is magnetic) of at least 3.5″ in diameter (obviously it is possible to mount this on top of any vehicle, for a building, it will have to be possible to install a metal ground plane on your rooftop). It uses a FME female connector and includes a 10′ coaxial cable. If you liked the Wilson 301102 but wanted something that would be easier to move, this would be your best bet. Check out the Wilson 301103 today.
