Wilson 301101 Dual Band Mirror Mount Trucker Antenna – www.cell-phone-accessories.com

Out of my previous 46 posts, 21 of them have been discussing amplifiers without (but requiring) an external antenna. My next series of posts will be about external antennas built by Wilson Electronics. While I have given you links to cell-phone-accessories for antennas I have recommended (as well as a link to the Wilson Electronics page and detailed where antennas are located to show you the entire selection of external antennas available), I have not really discussed antennas. These next few posts will outline your antenna options (for both mobile and building amplifiers. Please note that mobile antennas are able to be used in buildings making it easy to move your mobile amplifier to your office or home/home office). One great concept about these antennas is that while they are required for an amplifier to work, they can even help boost your signal without an amplifier. You can purchase a phone-specific Wilson Cell Phone Antenna Adapter and plug it directly into the antenna. While it is obvious that an amplifier would give you the optimal signal, an external antenna will (for obvious reasons) improve the strength of your signal. This would be a great option for somebody who needs their signal strength increased but not by a great margin (perhaps an increase in data rates, or a greater range for a push-to-talk). I would not recommend this option for somebody living in, working in traveling through, or regularly driving through dead zones, they should purchase an appropriate amplifier along with the antenna. An amplifier can improve the range up to 50 miles rather than the antenna by itself.

The first antenna I will discuss is the Wilson 301101. This antenna is a North American dual-band (800MHz and 1900MHz frequencies, also supports the iDEN network) trucker antenna. It is 32.0625″ tall and built for RVs, Mack/Freightliner trucks (18-wheelers), other big tucks (dump truck, cement trucks, garbage trucks, etc), boats. It is also a great option for building rooftops in which it is not possible to place a metal ground plane as this uses a 3/8″ x 24 thread mount (which is fairly standard and fits most existing antenna bases). No ground plane is required, this antenna can be used on any surface. I have posted the specifications for the antenna below. This antenna uses a coaxial cable with an FME Female connector, included is a 10′ coaxial cable to connect to your amplifier or phone adapter. It also includes a standard mount but there are three other mounting options available. Offered are the Wilson 901104, a 3-way mount with spade stud, the Wilson 901106, a horizontal mount with spade stud, or the Wilson 901108, which is a mirror mount for Mack/Freightliner trucks. All of these optional mounts include the hardware required to install it. Check out the Wilson 301101 today.
